College Magazine Cover

I decided to call my magazine 'HOIYA', its a random word i usually use to greet my friends so i thought it gave it a personal touch and its different. My 'medium close-up' shot is of Tom, he was used in our survey so i thought it would be a good idea to include him in my magazine, it doesn't look like it but he is acutally using a subjective gaze at the camera because he is looking through the camera lens, which is very unique. i haven't included a selling line in my magazine because i didn't think it needed one, 'HOIYA' seems to be quite a different title it speaks for itself really. i have used four main coverlines for my magazine cover, i thought they would be good ones to use because they target a variety of different students with different interests to the magazine. i used a different font for each cover line to make them all look different and stand out, my main image also relates to the main story (photography) which works well also. i didn't think my magazine needed a price, i decided to make it free because its for college students and isn't actually getting sold in a shop. the date for my magazine is monthly, i placed it under the masthead to people can see what issued month their reading. I've used alot of colours on my front cover so it looks exciting and eye catching, i've used blue, green , red, yellow and pink, very vibrant decorative colours. i used a dark blended shadow on the left and blurred my background to make the writing and main image stand out, i also used different fonts, for example, a hard scratchy font for 'ROCK BAND' so it stands out and looks dangerous, whereas i used a cartoon font for 'SHOOT!!' so it looks more fun. The word '50' is slanted and in a different colour from the rest of the writing on that line so it stands out and catches your eye. The layout is quite interesting, 'ROCK BAND' and '?' go slightly over Tom's arm to show the focal point is his face and that camera. Not his arm. The audience for my magazine is students, so i used informal language, like the masthead title 'HOIYA' is a made up word, and i wrote the word 'wanna' instead of 'want to' to show this magazine is aimed at the age range of college students.
